Please see the COVID-19 Remote Proctor Updates
After you have purchased exams and added your students to the ExamDriver system, you can schedule exam administrations in the Exam Scheduling tab. Then, in the upper-right corner of that window, click Schedule an Exam.
A pop-up screen will appear where you can select the exam you want to administer from those you have purchased. The screen is slightly different for each type of exam.
First, select the type of exam you want to administer from the Exam drop-down menu.
Next, in the Location menu, type in the box where the exam location will be – a room name, for instance. If you have administered exams before, those locations will be saved in the drop-down menu, or you can type a new location directly into the box.
Then, schedule breaks. This field is different in End of Rotation and PACKRAT exams.
- For End of Rotation and End of Curriculum exams: By default, there is no break between the sections. Check Override to set a break, and choose the appropriate duration. After that information is saved, the break’s duration cannot be changed.
- For PACKRAT exams: Section breaks are not given for PACKRAT as it is one continuous exam. The field is there, but you will not be able to select any button in it. Nevertheless, the proctor may arrange a break on-site by clicking Pause All in the proctor window. You can extend the duration of the PACKRAT exam by clicking Override in the box on the left and setting a new time limit.
Next, set the Event Start Date and Time for the exam. We recommend that you set the starting time 15 minutes to one hour before you would like the exam to start. That will ease the log-in process and ensure that everyone's systems are set up properly. If you choose to deliver your PACKRAT exam without a proctor by selecting Non-Proctored, you will also be prompted to set an End Date and Time. You can set this for the standard four hours after the start time, or give the students an extended period in which to take the exam at their convenience.
Then, hit Save.
Following this, you will be prompted to add students and proctors (if necessary). Click Manage to add from your program's proctor users.
To add proctors, check the boxes next to the users who will proctor the exam.
Adding students involves a few more steps. Visit the How do I assign students to an exam? tutorial for step-by-step instructions.
There are other key differences in setting up End of Rotation, PACKRAT, and End of Curriculum exams.
For End of Rotation exams, you set each student's ADA accommodations within their own lines when you assign them to the exam. The exams may only be administered with a proctor. All exams assigned to that proctor will appear in the My Proctor Schedule screen, even if there are seven events for each of the End of Rotation exams.
For PACKRAT exams, you set accommodations for each administration. That means that if some students will receive more time than others, you will schedule them as separate exam events. The exams may only be administered with a proctor, and for any length of time you wish.
End of Curriculum exams are set up like End of Rotation exams with regard to ADA accommodations. Students with time-based accommodations will be able to take their exam across two days since it is longer than the others. All End of Curriculum exams must be delivered on campus, proctored by a Faculty or Admin user (no remote proctors), and delivered within the last four months of the program. The system will not permit you to administer the exam before this time, so verify that the Graduation/Completion Date listed in the Classes tab is correct.
For more information on accommodations, visit the tutorials in the Getting Started section.
