We do not recommend that programs authorize third party remote proctoring services to access the Assessment Center to monitor the student’s exam sessions. The system does not have the ability to limit access to particular students’ exams and, thus, they would have access to all exams scheduled for your program. While preventing 3rd party proctors' access to the assessment center has the benefit of student privacy, it does mean that they will not have the capability to pause a student’s exam. All exams do have a 10-minute break between sections, and students cannot go back to the previous section after the break.
The program should provide the PINs to the remote proctoring service in advance of the exam session, and the remote proctor provides the PIN(s) to students to begin the exam. If a student in a remote proctored exam wants to stop the clock outside of a scheduled break, the remote proctor will have to get in touch with the program to click Pause and Resume.
