PAEA has temporarily waived our proctoring policies for the End of Rotation™ exams and is encouraging the use of the existing non-proctored setting for PACKRAT® exams. In light of feedback from users, we have enhanced the system to reduce frustration with the Auto-Pause and Auto-End feature during un-proctored exam administrations and while using live remote proctoring services and web conferencing solutions. To learn how to schedule these exams, visit this article.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If Auto-Pause and Auto-End alerts are disabled, program users will still be able to see Viewing Other Content, Inappropriate Key Stroke, and Screen Capture Detected notifications as they happen. For End of Rotation exams, they will appear in the Notifications area on the right side of the proctor screen. For both exams, they will appear in each student's Activity Log in the Students > Exams > Activity area or in the Exam Schedule > Students Assigned area. We urge you to investigate these notifications as they occur, in accordance with PAEA's and your program's policies.
The student experience will not change except that their exams will not be automatically halted.
Non-Proctored PACKRAT exams will function the same as always. More information on administering these exams is available here.
There will be three locations where the status of the exam can be verified by a new column next to the Exam Duration called Alerts Enabled:
- On the Exam Scheduling tab,
- On the My Proctor Schedule tab, and
- In the Exams list on the in-exam Proctor Session screen.
Yes in these columns means that exams may be Auto-Paused or Auto-Ended. No in these columns means that the proctor may receive behavior notifications, but Auto-Pause and Auto-End are not in place.
When a proctor launches their proctoring session after clicking the in-screen acknowledgment, a notification will appear, giving a reminder that Auto-Pause and Auto-End alerts are disabled and the time frame for changing the setting.
